How are you graded in phys. Ed. and health??
In Phys. Ed. and Health you are graded on 5 different Learning Outcomes or Categories.
Each category is worth 20% of you final mark. The Categories are .....
Personal and Social Management
- Do you Respect your fellow classmates? Do you Respect the equipment in class? Can you manage your emotions? Are you behaving appropriately? Are you co-operating and getting along well with others? Are you responsible during class and responsible for your actions? Do you play fair?
Do you show honesty and integrity during a game?
Safety
- Are you participating Safely? Are you putting your fellow classmates in harm's way?
Do you follow all classroom rules and routines? Are you dressed appropriately? Are you using the Phys. Ed. equipment properly?
Healthy Lifestyle Practices
- Do you know and understand what a healthy lifestyle and a healthy person look like? Are you aware that there are different components of Health (Physical, Emotional, Mental, Social, and Spiritual) that make up a complete healthy person? Can you explain factors that would make a person healthy and factors that would make a person unhealthy?
Movement
- Do you apply movement skills and patterns appropriately in class? Can you display the various fitness components when needed? (Strength, Balance, Stability, Endurance) Are you aware of what your body is doing when it's moving? Can you show offensive and defensive strategies in a game when it is called for?
Fitness Management
- Do you participate to the best of your ability? Are you aware of the benefits of physical activity and the importance of staying fit? Do you effectively warm-up and cool-down when needed? Are you able to set personal fitness goals for yourself?
